Who is John Kolic?

John began working as a miner for the NJ Zinc Co. in 1972 and continued until 1986 when the mine closed. He resumed work in 1989 for the Sterling Hill Mining Museum until October 2013 when he became too ill to continue. He passed away in 2014.

John kept a meticulous diary describing every detail of his workday. These diaries provide a firsthand view into his life as a miner.
