Mining & Dining

Sterling Hill Mining Museum offers a great way to start a day of touring our mine then following that with dining at one of Sussex County, NJ’s places to eat.

Northwestern New Jersey’s Places to Eat.

A hard day’s work in the mine will build up anybody's appetite. Touring a mine is not as labor intensive as working in one, but you still have to eat. The museum offers a light lunch menu right on-site at the Miner’s Lunchbox snack bar, but for a full lunch or dinner there are lots of places around to eat.

To help narrow your search we picked three of our favorites. Krogh’s Restaurant and Brew Pub in Lake Mohawk’s downtown village, right across the street from the lake. Irish Cottage Inn is modern Irish pub with authentic thatch roof and 15 HD TV’s to watch the games. And then there is the Chatterbox Drive-In, a classic old-school drive-in, and a must-see where Elvis has NOT left the building.
